Cites Babeu’s commitment to officers in the field
Chandler, AZ – Arizona State Senator and former Mayor of Chandler
Jay Tibshraeny (R-21) formally announced his endorsement of Chandler Police
officer Paul Babeu for Pinal County Sheriff.
Tibshraeny was elected to the State Senate in 2002. He was previously a Chandler
City Council Member from 1986-1990, Vice-Mayor from 1990-1994, and Mayor from 1994-2002.
“As a former mayor and current state senator, I know that public safety is perhaps
the most important service that government provides to our communities,” Tibshraeny
said. “I would like the citizens of Pinal County to know that Paul Babeu is not
only a highly trained law-enforcement officer, but also an officer who is very well
respected by both the management in our city and the rank-in-file officers on the
beat.” Tibshraeny went on to further illustrate this by saying that as President
of the Chandler Law Enforcement Association, Babeu will bring fairness and professionalism
to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.
Babeu said he welcomed the support of State Senator Tibshraeny. “I know that Jay
is committed to law-enforcement so to have his endorsement is something to be proud
of,” Babeu said. “I look forward to working with people like Senator Tibshraeny
to ensure that law-enforcement is always a top priority for our elected officials
so we can lower response times and better serve Pinal County residents.”
